A super fun festival wedding with The Roaming Caravan and a live band - it's Alison & Gareth's vineyard wedding in sunny South Wales
The magnificent Glyndwr Vineyard set in Cowbridge has to be one of the most beautiful venues in South Wales and I was so excited to shoot Alison and Gareth's wedding there back in July. The combination of a perfect summers day (this was during the heatwave), the incredible location of Glyndwr Vineyard and the MOST relaxed couple made for a truly special day. With the weather and setting it honestly felt like we could have been somewhere in the South of France, not South Wales!
In the morning I rocked up at Lanelay Hall in Talbot Green where Alison and her bridesmaids were getting ready. It was great for me to document as the girls were in the most fun and relaxed mood their cracking playlist and Prosecco helped with this! Each bridesmaid had their own personal style with their individual bridesmaid dresses and the bride wore a very unique two-piece which captured Alison's beauty and originality, which set the tone for the day.
The vineyard formed a perfect backdrop for one the most intimate ceremonies. Alison & Gareth were both super emotional and weren't afraid to show it. After the ceremony the celebrations got in full swing where they were showered with colourful confetti, and they were greeted by the amazing Roaming Caravan who provided the celebratory drinks to get the party started.
Before they went in to the marquee for speeches we did a quick 5 minute portrait session in amongst the vines and then a few group shots that the family had requested. It was difficult (in a good way) to choose the best spot for these as there's so much beautiful scenary at the vineyard.
The speeches were comical, emotional and personal all rolled into one and everyone spoke from the heart. Once everyone had enjoyed the speeches and their paella from the street food stall Riceminster they moved back into the sunshine and back to the Roaming Caravan for more drinks. To add to the wedding day fun there were some lawn games set up - the limbo, hula hooping, a pinata and croquet. For me personally at these kind of weddings watching people get drunker and drunker and attempt the limbo always ends up in some hilarious action shots!
Keeping the wedding relaxed and forgoing tradition, Alison and Gareth decided not to do a first dance (something I'm finding is becoming increasingly popular). Before the cover band The Point kicked off the party one of the wedding guests introduced them on stage with a hilaious impression of Jools Holland. The band absolutely rocked it by playing songs from Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The White Stripes, David Bowie and much more which helped create a crazy and chaotic dancefloor that made for some ridicously fun photographs!
So I just want to say thanks again to Alison and Gareth for having me to document their wedding, I truly had an absolute blast and it really was an incredible day! I hope you all enjoy the photos below and would love to hear any thoughts and feedback on the images.
